The townhouse Sa Casa Vella is nestled in a rather inconspicuous row of houses in a typical Mallorcan village, but as soon as you step through the entrance of the house at number 60 and pass through three ground-floor rooms, you enter the inner courtyard Let yourself be enchanted: with great attention to detail, the owners have succeeded in preserving the charm of a venerable townhouse and at the same time making a wellness holiday in a class of its own possible thanks to the large pool. The pool, with its curved arches that give the outline a calligraphic touch, measures an impressive 8 x 4.5 metres. The six high-quality loungers offer a place of perfect tranquillity where you can caress the sun on your skin after a refreshing dip. An old tree, a fountain and a beautiful covered terrace covered with wild climbing leaves are further features that make this townhouse a first-class rental property. You will also find a covered outdoor kitchen with water connection and built-in charcoal barbecue where you can enjoy your barbecue specialities in the evening.
The interior of the villa also makes it clear that you are living in a historic building. Wonderfully exposed natural stone walls exude a rustic fairytale charm, crowned by the mighty wooden roof beams. The first room on the other side of the front door is the dining room, where a dark-stained wooden table provides ample space for everyone in your group to enjoy delicious gourmet dishes. Behind it, the living room awaits you with comfortable sofas, a fireplace that radiates cosy warmth and a TV with satellite technology that also receives international channels. From here you have access to the utility room, where you can do your laundry, and a pretty little bathroom. The rear room is wonderfully angled and houses the practically equipped kitchen as well as a private well and another dining table. To get to the four bedrooms, you have to climb the stairs, which first lead past the entrance to the roof terrace with fantastic panoramic views to a mezzanine floor with two double bedrooms. A little higher up is a room with bunk beds, another bathroom and, around another bend, the fourth bedroom with a double bed. All rooms are bright and friendly and the tasteful, discreet furnishings will make you feel right at home. Especially as one of the bedrooms even has the luxury of air conditioning! The other rooms have fans and central heating.
If you fancy a bike ride, you can hire bikes from a bike hire shop in the town and start exploring the wine villages towards the bay of Alcúdia. If you climb up to the impressively situated Catedral de las Montañas, the Ermita de Bonany on the hill of the same name, you will discover the full beauty of this central Mallorcan region. The fruit that you can buy on Wednesdays at the market, practically on your doorstep, is wonderfully fresh. The same goes for the sea, which you can reach in about half an hour's drive in the towns of Can Picafort or Son Serra de Marina. On your way, you will pass small wine towns such as Maria de la Salut and Petra, where you can sample wines straight from the source. Hiking tours in the mountainous north of the island, for example in Pollença, 45 minutes away by car, beach days on the beautiful east coast (at least 30 minutes away) or a day trip to the capital Palma, also 30 minutes away by car, this townhouse offers many possibilities. The centrally located village of Vilafranca de Bonany is also known as the granary of the island: Surrounded by agricultural land and idyllic windmills, the Ma-15 ensures that you are only around half an hour away from the airport and the vibrant island capital of Palma.
